Folkloric
“The Hunger That Never Ends”
This is a speculative horror poem that takes a creature of Native American folklore and gives it life.
“Dasvedanya, Malyshka”
This is a lyrical poem I consider my own Russian folktale, following the issue of bad marriages in the 1800s, and told as a sort of warning that such things can happen. It is from an alternate history novel I am working on.
“Walpurgisnacht”
This is a speculative, folkloric poem that takes the old German holiday of Walpurgisnacht (The Witches’ Night) and creates a lyrical mode of warning.

“Aurelia”
This is a romance poem that takes cliché and abstract ideas of love and gives them new life and flavor.
“Rouge Noir”
This is a feminist poem, which is now published in the Paisano Plus Magazine of March 2018. It is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with Red as every daughter, her mother as every mother, and the wolf as threatening men.
“I Wasn’t Ready”
This is a speculative poem expanding on the relationship of an animal and human, telling a feral child’s tale through the eyes of the wolf who adopted her.
“I Promise You Fields of Yellow Daffodils”
This poem of the intimate relationships of one’s life, of how they last or fade, is published in the May 2018 edition of the Paisano Plus Magazine. It is written from the perspective of a young Hispanic woman, reflecting on those who have meant so much to her throughout her life in defining moments.
